The Anchor House Warriors will now have the chance to take part in a London Borough of Newham funded coaching clinic after beating rivals Rathbone Market on the 20th September.
The team, made up of 20 players including 15 residents and five community members won 10-7. Named after the HMS Warrior battleship built in Canning Town in 1860, the Anchor House team hosted the tournament at Newham Leisure Centre in partnership with Homeless Link and London Football Association (LFA).
In this joint football venture Anchor House aims to unite the East London homeless community and get them involved in fitness activities. This was one of the first of many partnership events that Anchor House and the LFA will be holding in the hope of providing organised regular provisions to the homeless and the community.
