Welcome to Caritas Anchor House

Caritas Anchor House is a residential and life skills centre for single homeless people. Based in the East End of London, we support over 200 people each year, giving them so much more than just a roof over their heads. Our aim is to address the root causes of homelessness and create sustainable solutions that ensure the people we help will never find themselves in that situation again.

Prevention and Rememberance – Overdose Awareness Day

International Overdose Awareness Day is a global event which aims to raise awareness of overdose and reduce the stigma of drug related deaths.

Held every year on 31st August, this year’s event falls on Bank Holiday Monday, and has the theme of prevention and remembrance, acknowledging the grief felt by families and friends remembering those who have met with death or permanent injury as a result of a drug overdose.

A recent report by FaithAction has highlighted the dual role faith-based organisations, like Caritas Anchor House, play in the fight against homelessness. Aspirations Programme Q1 2015

During the last quarter of our reporting year, 6 April 2015 – 5 July 2015, we continued to experience the problems associated with austerity measures.
